our story begins with independent farmers in India, trained in organic and sustainable production methods. our supplier supports roughly a thousand cotton farmers, eliminating pesticide and fertilizer use and enhancing quality. a guaranteed purchase agreement with these farmers provides financial opportunity for education, infrastructure, and local development. factory working conditions of the employees are of sincere conscientious standards. no exploitation. fair wages. safe work. no children. this process is formally coined ‘fair trade’.
the relationship established between goodsociety and our manufacturers is defined by trust and collaboration. we take a personal approach on the floors of our production units, engaging with the process and the skilled people that create our line. our interaction with people through all parts of production is an important relational part of supporting the hands that help bring our product to market.
finally, proceeds from goodsociety are used to assist and encourage not-for-profit initiatives. we support an organization directly assisting vulnerable Nepalese women and children trafficked in the sex trade industry. we also share our time by traveling to Northern India and sharing our love with 200 kids at two children’s homes. beyond time, we also support these kids financially by assisting with food, housing, and schooling expenses.
